Friends and family of a Dallas man stabbed to death early Saturday on Lower Greenville are held a vigil for him Monday night.
Terrell Cowherd, 26, was stabbed while trying to break up a street fight.
Cowherd's friends, family and co-workers gathered at J.W. Ray Park in East Dallas to remember him.
"He had a very, very big, genuine smile about him," Ted McCloud, Cowherd's friend, said. "It always warms you when you see him, and he's always in a good mood."
Cowherd was an engineer at Luminant, in the mining department.
"We met with the family earlier and it's just a tough time for them and a tough time for us," said coworker Kim Mireles. "He was truly a great individual. He smiled, he made us laugh he had just very strong impact on our group."
The confrontation early Saturday morning was captured by onlookers on cell phone video.
A shirtless man, Julian Terrence Martin, Jr., allegedly attacked Cowherd and has been arrested by Dallas police. Another suspect, Jerry Brown, has also been arrested.
Police say both men punched Cowherd and Brown held him while Martin stabbed him.
