This is the third year for the "Stuff The Bus" school supply drive and it's a record.
$310,393 was donated in pre-packaged school supplies and cash at Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana.
The store that tops them all, the one that gets the A+ is in Tarrant County at the Matlock Road store in Mansfield. Customers there donated $10,984 in cash and school supplies.
Why is that store #1? The customers were very generous and the store team really had fun with the school supply drive. Cashiers asked shoppers if they'd buy a pre-packaged school supply kit for $7 and gave them lots of information about the event.
All donations will go next week to low-income elementary students in the Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth and Irving ISD's.
Customer Service Manager, Antonio Martinez works at the Mansfield store and he was the No. 1 enroller in all of Texas. He thinks he was effective because he said he knows what it's like to need the help.
When Martinez was in elementary school in Grand Prairie his family didn't have a lot of money for school supplies, so he was thrilled to help thousands of local children feel great by have school supplies.
For the third year, FOX 4 was a proud sponsor of "Stuff The Bus." Thanks for being a Hometown Hero and by giving local kids a great start to the school year.
