Fire crews were called to put out a fire at the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Fort Worth Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. in the back of Chef Tim Love's popular restaurant in the historic stockyards.
But once firefighters arrived, they were able to quickly control the heavy smoke and flames. They also prevented it from spreading to neighboring businesses.
An emotional Chef Love said there was extensive damage to the kitchen and smoke damage in the main dining area.
"We're just happy everybody is safe," he said while fighting back tears.
The restaurant was not open at the time and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Chef Love said he will try to get the restaurant back up and running in about 30 days.
