MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
FOX 9 News is on the scene of a shooting in north Minneapolis where a 14-month-old girl, a 19-year-old woman who is nine months pregnant, and a 17-year-old boy were injured on Tuesday evening.
Minneapolis police confirmed that three people were shot at 5:29 p.m. as they stood on the street near the intersection of 29th Street and Lyndale Avenue North.
The 14-month-old Mykaliah was shot in the shoulder. Her 17-year-old uncle, Javar, and 19-year-old Trenay were both shot in the leg.
All the victims, who are related but are not immediate family members, are expected to survive.
The pregnant woman was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The baby girl and the teenaged boy are both being treated at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Police say the shooter fled on foot and officers are now canvassing the neighborhood; however, no arrests have been made.
Extra patrols will also be out in the area, and anyone with information is urged to call 612-692-TIPS.
Witnesses told FOX 9 News a large group of people was standing in the front yard near a car when five or six shots rang out. The culprit then took off, and several people from within the group allegedly gave chase.
By 8 p.m., neighbors -- including the mother of a shooting victim -- had come together to pray near the scene and call for justice.
Community leaders plan to come together to respond to the shooting on Wednesday at 3 p.m. They will rally at 29th Street and Lyndale Avenue North.
