New NFL stadium policy limits bags

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

The NFL has a new policy in place that limits what fans can bring into the stadium.

Director of stadium security Paul Turner said the changes will go into effect Saturday for the Dallas Cowboys first home preseason game against the Bengals.

The policy limits the size and type of bags to only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC totes no bigger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.  Clear gallon-sized re-seal able storage bags and small clutch purses smaller than 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches will also be allowed.

Regular purses, computer bags, camera bags, coolers, briefcases, fanny packs, backpacks, luggage, cinch bags and seat cushions are not allowed.

Turner said the change is for security reasons. The goal is actually to encourage fans not to bring any type of bag into the venue.
