SMU will reopen Moody Coliseum in a nationally televised men's basketball game against the University of Connecticut this coming January.
The venue, which opened in 1956, was closed in February for a $47 million renovation. Work continues inside the building on new suites, a remodeled seating bowl, new video boards and a new addition that will house a private club area.
SMU is now a member of the American Athletic Conference, which is a mix of schools from the Big East and Conference USA. The American's basketball schedule was released on Wednesday.
SMU will host UConn in the first game inside the renovated venue on Sat. Jan. 4, 2014 in a nationally televised game on ESPNU.
SMU will also host defending national champion Louisville in March, among other notable match ups.
