Bowie Bowie
FORT WORTH, Texas -

The Fort Worth Zoo is welcoming another baby Asian elephant to its herd. This time it's a boy.

The zoo said Bowie was born on Aug. 5 to first-time mom, Bluebonnet.

His birth comes about a month after the zoo announced the birth of Belle, a female Asian elephant.

Belle is actually Bowie's aunt. Her mother, Rasha, is the new baby's grandmother.

Bowie will be on exhibit for the first time on Thursday at various times depending on how well he gets acclimated to his surroundings.

Afterward, he will be out with Bluebonnet, Rasha, and Belle daily between 10:15 a.m. and noon and again briefly at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
