Car ripped apart in high speed fatal crash

MESQUITE, Texas -

Two people were killed when a car hit a center wall on southbound LBJ overnight.

The crash happened on the freeway between La Prada and Oates drives in Mesquite at around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Police said a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling at a high speed and may have ridden the wall before being torn in two.

The cousins who were in the car died at the scene. They've been identified as 26-year-old Raymondrick Scott and 24-year-old Cordell Scott.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police are still investigating to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.
