An Austin area homeowner's association banned children from writing with chalk anywhere in the neighborhood.
It started in July when a couple got a violation because their children had drawn on the sidewalk. The Residents Alliance Association claimed the drawings were "displeasing to the eye."
Now the couple and other parents have created a group called "Chalk It Up! Kids Rule and Alliance Drools."
"An eyesore was what they called it. Yeah and our take on that is if you're going to live in a neighborhood that's right next door to an elementary school you should probably expect to see evidence of children in the neighborhood," said Kelsey Jakubauskas.
The group is planning a protest on Sunday. All neighborhood families will decorate their sidewalks and driveways with chalk.
