DARBY, Pa. -

Authorities are searching for a vehicle that was carjacked from Delaware County and believed to contain medical waste that's potentially toxic.

The carjacking was reported on the 200 block of Mill Street in Darby.

Initial reports were that the vehicle had a "Cardinal Health Nuclear" decal on the back, but officials now say there was no decal. The Department of Homeland Security was initially called to the scene.

Police said at a late Friday afternoon news conference that the thief used a gun to take the car, described as a white 2013 Toyota.

The victim was not hurt. The car was last seen headed toward Philadelphia.

Investigators say they were tracking the vehicle by using an electronic device that wound up being tossed out on the 2300 block of South 63rd Street in Philadelphia.

Officials say their major concern right now is the medical waste container, as it could be harmful to anyone who opens it, FOX 29's Omari Fleming reported.
