RIMROCK, Ariz. -

A 23-year-old man has been accused of attacking his brothers with knives and a 40 ounce glass bottle of beer while they were near Beaver Creek Campground on August 11.

Deputies say Derrick Lovaasen and his 30-year-old brother had already begun fighting when their 21-year-old brother returned from another area.

Lovaasen allegedly threatened his older brother with a shotgun he had with him, but the 30-year-old was able to get it away from him and gave it to their younger brother to hid in some bushes.

Deputies say Lovaasen then took out a razor knife and butterfly-style knife and stabbed his older brother several times.

The 30-year-old was injured on his right wrist, lower back, right foot, his chest and shoulders.

Shortly afterward, deputies say Lovaasen broke a nearly full 40 ounce beer bottle over his older brother's head.

Lovaasen then allegedly used the broken bottleneck to cut his younger brother's left shoulder when he tried to intervene.

At that point, deputies say Lovaasen left the area.

When Lovassen's brothers went back to their truck, they realized the right front tire had been slashed and was undrivable.

Both brothers were hospitalized. The younger brother had about 45 stitches while the older brother had about 200 stitches.

Neither of the brothers could give deputies a reason why Lovaasen committed the alleged attacks and initially told deputes their injuries were from falling.

Lovaasen was arrested and booked on charges of Aggravated Domestic Violence,
Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct and a weapons offense.

He was released on a $2500 bond.
