The cause of an early morning house fire that killed one man in southeast Dallas remains under investigation according to Dallas Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.
Evans says firemen answered a call in the 900 block of Glen Oaks Blvd early Saturday morning and saw smoke coming from the home. The fireman got the fire knocked out quickly. Evans says that's when they found the body of 79 year old Walter Simmons near the origin of the fire.
Evans says Simmons wife was able to escape the burning home without injury when she was alerted to the fire by smoke detectors in the home.
