PHOENIX (AP) - A federal court has once again ruled that attorneys for a Nevada developer must exhaust a legal battle over the Grand Canyon Skywalk in tribal court before going to the federal level.
U.S. District Judge David Campbell issued the ruling earlier this month as the family of David Jin and the Hualapai Tribe hash out a contract dispute.
Jin's attorneys had sought to force the tribe into arbitration to put a value on the contract after the tribe wrote Jin out of managing the Skywalk. They also wanted a determination on whether the Hualapai Tribe violated the federal or tribal constitutions in doing so.
Jin died in June after a battle with cancer, but his family is pursuing the case.
Campbell says the Hualapai Court appears to be moving forward with it.
