ROMEO, Mich. (WJBK) -

Ronald Dimambro Jr. sits behind bars, charged with first degree child abuse. Those charges are expected to change though, following the death of Damian Sutton.

Damian is the 2-year-old Dimambro is accused of severely beating - and now, possibly, to death.

Dimambro is not facing any new charges just yet, and we don't know exactly what the set of the new charges could become. An autopsy still needs to be completed on Damian.

Dimambro's next court date is set for September 10.

Meanwhile, Damian's family is still collecting funds to cover medical, and now funeral expenses.

A fundraiser is underway Tuesday evening until 9PM at Younger's Irish Tavern in Romeo.

Damian's great-aunt Cora Leibowitz says donations to help cover medical expenses and funeral costs can made online at www.gofundme.com/prayersfordamian or at any Fifth Third Bank branch nationwide.
