Fort Worth police arrest man after chase, threat to burn down house

A man who led Fort Worth police on a lengthy chase Tuesday afternoon reportedly injured a firefighter after slamming through a garage at his own home and fleeing the scene.

The case wound through South Fort Worth and ended at Highland Hills Park when the truck went off the road and onto a sidewalk.

Fort Worth police said the driver of the truck tried to burn down his own house on Tuesday afternoon and threatened his wife with knives.

The firefighter was hurt when the truck slammed through the garage door. Firefighters had responded to a call for help.

The firefighter was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police tased the driver when he bailed out of his vehicle and took him into custody.
