ROMEO, Mich. (WJBK) -

Macomb County Prosecutor and Sheriff Anthony Wickersham move to increase charges against Ronald Dimambro, the man accused of beating two-year-old Damian Sutton.

Macomb County Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz has completed the of the little boy.

Dr. Spitz has determined that the cause of death is blunt force trauma and the manner of death is homicide.  As a result of these findings, Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith says he is increasing the charges against Ronald Dimambro to First Degree Felony Murder.

"Violence against Macomb County children will not be tolerated.  The full weight and resources of this Office will be used to seek justice for Damian Sutton" said Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith.

Defending Damian's mother, he adds, "[Nikki] said she has never seen any signs of violence [in Dimambro]... She had no idea that this was ever a possibility... This is the last thing she ever thought would happen. People need to realize that this woman did everything she could to provide the best possible life for her child. From everything we have seen, the blame lies in one person: The defendant."

The defendant will be arraigned on the charge of First Degree Felony Murder on September 10, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. before 42-1 District Court Judge Denis LeDuc.

Meanwhile, Damian's family is still collecting funds to cover medical, and now funeral expenses.

Damian's great-aunt Cora Leibowitz says donations to help cover medical expenses and funeral costs can made online at or at any Fifth Third Bank branch nationwide.

A funeral and memorial service for Damian will be Saturday, August 30th, at 3PM at Athena Hall in Roseville.
