DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

United Healthcare's 'Ride 2 Recovery' rides into metro Detroit Thursday. The particular single-day bike challenge took injured veterans, active service men and women, and other participants from Novi to Detroit. They arrived at the Renaissance Center around 11:30AM, and went to a Tiger's pre-game ceremony.

The ride is part of a much larger program, the Great Lakes Challenge which took bikers all the way from Chicago to Detroit. The ride began on Friday, August 23, making stops in Michigan City, South Haven, Grand Rapids, East Lansing, Novi, and finally ending here in Detroit.
