Oprah Winfrey kicked off MegaFest in Dallas with a live taping of her show that airs on the cable network she started.
Nearly 15,000 fans were in attendance at the American Airlines Center for the discussion between Oprah and Bishop T.D. Jakes.
The megachurch pastor is holding his three-day inspirational event in Dallas for the first time and more than 50,000 people are expected to attend the various events.
Oprah told FOX4 after the event that MegaFest is no different than various business conferences around the United States.
"They'll have a conference in Idaho and a conference in Aspen. They do that to reinforce who they are and what they do in the world," said Winfrey. "So this is for me, a reinforcement for families, for the nurturing and support that allows you as an individual... to do what you do even better."
Oprah also said her network is working on a Dallas-based reality show around the life of Deion Sanders.
MegaFest continues on Friday and Saturday in Dallas.
