Atlanta Beltline project gets $18M federal grant

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Beltline project has received an $18 million grant from the federal government.

The office of Rep. John Lewis says the congressman has been notified of the grant, which will provide for construction of 2 miles of the Atlanta Beltline.

The Beltline is a $2.8 billion plan to transform a 22-mile railroad corridor that encircles Atlanta into a network of trails, parks, affordable homes and ultimately streetcar lines.
