Kemp police looking for man who tried to kidnap student

Kemp police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a junior high student.

The incident occurred on Aug. 19 at Kemp Junior High School and parents told FOX4 the man tried to kidnap an unsupervised cheerleader.

Kemp ISD superintendent called it the man an unauthorized person approaching a student inappropriately.

Superintendent Sam Swierc sent a letter to parents in the district that said the procedures in place are appropriate.

Police released a sketch of the suspect and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
