2 shot at boarding house in DeKalb County

Posted: Updated:

Police say two people were shot at a boarding house in DeKalb County on Monday.

The shooting took place off at a home off of Shamrock Drive just after 8 p.m.  Several tenants live in separate rooms and share a common area in the home, according to police.

Authorities said that a resident of the home shot a man in the common area. A woman then ran out of the house and was followed by the gunman. The woman was then shot two times, according to Lt. Mark Lavigne of the DeKalb County Police Department.

Police at the scene told FOX 5 that the two victims were transported to the hospital and are in critical condition.

An active search was underway late Monday for the shooter.
