Police: Woman Suspected Of Stealing Razor Blades

Posted: Updated:
LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TWP., Pa. -

Supermarkets are used having shoplifters every now and then. But for one woman, police say, stealing from Giant stores is becoming a regular thing and she's got one item on her mind.

Police in two counties are getting used to seeing 25-year old woman on surveillance video roaming the aisles looking for one expensive product.

Cops say the woman is swiping razor blades.

"Huh?? Who steals razors?" asks a customer we told.

Who? Lower Southampton police say that her name is Seanne Leedom of Norristown. After comparing notes and photographs, police say she's been responsible for a razor theft ring at four Giant Food Stores in Lower Southampton, Phoenixville, Hatfield and Conshohocken.

"Isn't that crazy.. the scams that people come up with.. but razors? I would have never guessed" says customer Donna Green of Overbrook Park.

Police say that in the latest, theft nearly 400 dollars worth of razors were taken. She virtually cleaned out the store shelves.

"They say she's stealing razors.. Really?? 400 dollars worth of razors??" asks Donna Green.

"They're really expensive. They're very expensive, so you can probably sell them. Oh, absolutely. There's great demand," says Lou Peltzer of Feasterville.

We checked online, and yes, there is a black market for higher end razors. But police are hoping this local razor ring stops when they arrest this woman.

"I have two girls that have a lot of dark hair. And they're Italian so they could use those razors," says Judy Meme of Richboro.

At least two police departments have issued an arrest warrant for Leedom, she also has a previous arrest history for retail theft. If you know where she is, then police would like to hear from you (215-357-1235).
