Redneck Heaven TV show makes MTV debut in October

Posted: Updated:

The staff of Redneck Heaven is about to be in the national spotlight.

The controversial restaurant, which triggered complaints and caused Lewisville to rewrite its nudity ordinance, will be featured in a MTV TV series that debuts in October.

"Big Tips Texas" will follow the wait staff of the restaurant while at work and away from their jobs.

The restaurant gained notoriety in North Texas when the Lewisville City Council addressed the clothing the waitresses wore at a July meeting. The council changed an ordinance to say body paint and similar materials do not suitably cover body parts at local businesses.

The city ordinance in Lewisville previously said certain body parts needed to have opaque covering. The waitresses at Redneck Heaven wore body paint.

MTV said it its press release 14 episodes were produced and will star airing on Oct. 9.
