Ryan has his money, now he wants a championship

AP Sports Writer

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - Matt Ryan is firmly established as 1 of the NFL's top quarterbacks. He's set for life financially after signing a contract extension worth nearly $104 million. He's revered by his Atlanta teammates and viewed by everyone as the face of the Falcons.

That's not enough.

He wants a ring.

Ryan vows not to get complacent after agreeing to a 5-year extension that guarantees him $59 million. He is focused on winning a Super Bowl championship after falling short his first five years in the league, even while leading the Falcons to four playoff appearances and two NFC South titles.

Everyone figures it's just a matter of time. In fact, running back Steven Jackson says he signed with the Falcons mainly because he wanted the chance to play with Matty Ice.
