Chobani pulls some yogurt over mold problems

Thousands have complained about being sickened by Chobani Greek-style yogurt. Now the company is warning customers about its product.

The yogurt problem started in the Potato State. The company says a type of mold from dairy ingredients was traced back to its Twin Falls, Idaho, processing plant. Twin Falls is a small city south of the state capital Boise.

Chobani said the problem affected less than 5 percent of its total products. In particular, those ending with the code 16-012, with expiration dates ranging from September 11 to October 7, 2013.

The company apologized on its Facebook and Twitter pages to the hundreds of customers who say they were sickened by the bad yogurt.

While thousands of stores across the country have pulled those cups, we found some supermarkets in Manhattan that still had the ones with the particular barcode or expiration dates being warned about.

The company wrote that "communicating with our consumers is our top priority." Customers were directed to a blog that didn't work.

So far there is no government order mandatory recall, though the FDA is reportedly investigating the problem.

Anyone wishing to contact Chobani can do so at the company's website: Chobani.com

Taxis come in yellow, green, black, and now... hot pink? They're called SheTaxis and they are from a cab service for women by women. (The cabs aren't actually pink, but drivers will carry pink pashminas.)The service is coming to New York this week. You could almost think of it as an all-female Uber.
