Anti-violence march in Brooklyn

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Over 200 people gathered for a rally organized by Senator Eric Adams (D-NY) for an anti-violence march in Brooklyn Sunday morning.

The march took place at the Corner of Livonia Avenue and Bristol Street in Brownsville, the exact location of the fatal shooting of 1-year-old Antiq Hennis one week ago. Sen. Adams hosted the march that featured law enforcement professionals and community leaders dressed in suits and ties.

The group called for an end to gun violence and for new measures to get illegal guns off neighborhood streets.

23-year-old Daquan Breland was arraigned on murder and ordered held without bail. He was extradited back to New York from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. after he and accused accomplice, 19-year-old Daquan Wright were hiding out at a cousin’s apartment since the shooting.

Wright has been charged with weapons possession.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
