A New Jersey man is turning heads after installing a gun-shaped mailbox outside his home.

49-year-old Roger Buchko of Warren County is the man who made the 350-pound mailbox, and he says it's a replica of the Smith and Wesson gun from the Dirty Harry film series.

Striking as it is, the mailbox is not meant to be a political statement. Instead, Buchko is using it to promote his business of cabinet-making and metal fabrication.

"It's just to drum up business, because I'm broke," he told New York Daily News.

So far, Buchko tells The Express-Times, more than 500 people have taken pictures of his mailbox.  Only one person has thrown eggs at his work.

One fan of the monument is the Postmaster for the county.

"I think it's very innovative. I'm 100 percent supportive," she said. "As long as it accommodates the size of the mail he receives, it's not a problem."
