MELISSA, Texas -

Frisco police have arrested a man, sources say is a person of interest in the murder of a Melissa woman.

That man was pulled over Tuesday morning for an unrelated traffic violation.

The woman's 17-year-old son reportedly came home from school around 4 p.m. Monday and found her dead in their home in the 3000 block of Maple Lane in Melissa, located in a quiet Collin County subdivision.

Officials conducted a preliminary investigation, which leads them to believe the death was not a random act.

Melissa police said in a release there were signs of trauma on the woman's body and they are investigating a possible motive for the murder.

Officials said neighbors should not be worried about their safety because they believe the victim knew the suspect.

Anyone with information in the case can call the Collin County dispatch center at 972-547-5350.
