Dallas Independent School District Superintendent Mike Miles will likely learn this week if he will keep his job after an independent report showed he violated board policy.
The report found nothing illegal, but did find Miles damaged his working relationship by improperly contacting two witnesses. Those witnesses knew about a contract he was trying to get approved.
The report also found Miles helped write the resignation letter of a top-level employee and leaked it to reporters.
"I think the board is going to come to a slim majority to keep the superintendent. I don't think there will be a vote for termination. But I think there will be in the Dallas way many signals to him that a resignation would be welcome," said John Fullinwider, an education advocate.
Miles' possible termination could be discussed at a meeting Thursday, or it could be moved to Saturday so board members can have more time to look into the report.
Miles made headlines recently when his wife and son moved back to Colorado, reportedly to escape the negative attention. He also listed his home for sale.
