NEWNAN, Ga. -

Police in Newnan arrested a 16-year-old boy after they say he tried to carjack seven drivers.

David Huggins said leapt into action when he saw someone try to steal his pickup truck with his wife still inside.

"I'm up here on top of him, I got him, I reach in I turn the key, threw them out, still holding on," said Huggins.

Huggins said that some point during the scuffle, the suspect bit him before getting away.

"It felt pretty good, it went deep," Huggins said.

Huggins says the alleged carjacker then tried to steal a neighbor's van. When that didn't work, he allegedly tried to take David Donnahoo's van.

"I grabbed him and we wrestled and wrestled," said Donnahoo. "Because I am handicapped, my knees gave out on me and he took advantage of that and slammed me into the road."

Donnahoo lost layers of skin; gravel was embedded in his knees, hands and elbows. He says the teen took off running and made several other attempts to steal vehicles, including banging on the window of a car while a woman was driving down the street.

Police say the suspect jumped on the hood of another car with a woman and children inside. The driver threw it in reverse, and the teen when flying into the street.

On the teen's seventh attempt to steal a car, police say he jumped through an open passenger window of a car and grabbed the wheel. He was fighting with the driver when police arrived.

David Huggins says his wife is calling him a hero for doing everything he could to catch the guy, but he says he was only worried about his wife.

"It wasn't the truck I wanted it was my wife," Huggins said. "We had an anniversary last week -- 31 years, I want another.one."

The teen is in custody. He faces several charges of car theft and battery, Huggins said that he believes more charges, including kidnapping, should be filed.
