Reward offered in murder of College Park man

Posted: Updated:
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -

The murder of a College Park father remains unsolved after two months. The family of DeAndre Holmes is hoping a cash reward will lead to an arrest in the case.

Holmes, 37, was shot to death inside a College Park apartment on the night of July 12.

Keisha Glass Holmes is at loss to explain who would kill her husband.

"I don't have a why," she said.

College Park Police said Holmes was ambushed while he was visiting a friend who lives in the apartment. Sgt. Jeff Hightower said someone forced their way in and shot Holmes.

Police said they interviewed some witnesses but still have no suspects.

The family and CrimeStoppers are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting.

Holmes' widow says that  she may never take off her wedding ring -- at least not until she finds some closure.

"It won't fix it, but it will help me move forward. I can move forward a little bit," she said.

Holmes leaves behind a wife of 15 years and three children.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CrimeStoppers tip line at 404-577-8477.
