A closer look at the emerging trend of physician assistants

If you've spent any time in the doctor's office, you've probably notice it: Georgia has been hit hard by a shortage of doctors. For patients, that can mean long waits to see providers.

That's why more patients are choosing to see a physician assistant. The FOX Medical Team's Beth Galvin recently spent the morning with a PA to learn more about this emerging trend.

Chances are, if you call your doctor's office for an appointment, you may be asked whether you'd like to see a PA instead of a doctor. But, a lot of people don't really know what a PA is or what he or she can and can't do.

A PA named Tammy Stewart was happy to give some of these answers!
