Serial rape suspect won't fight extradition

Posted: Updated:

Suspected south Dallas rapist Van Dralan Dixson told a Louisiana judge Thursday he would waive his right to fight extradition.

"I want to get back to Texas," he said.

Dixson is being held in high security at the East Baton Rouge Parish jail. He was arrested Tuesday outside the Alamo Plaza Motel by U.S. Marshals.

He faces four counts of aggravated sexual assault and is being held under $5 million bond.

Dallas County sheriff's deputies will bring him back to Dallas, but it could be several days before he returns.

Criminal psychologist Dr. Robert Gordon has for years studied the brain at his Wilmington Institute. He said although Dixson was a neighborhood crime watch volunteer and described as a hard worker and dedicated father, he was able to wear a mask in the community.

"He was accepted and he wore a mask that was really impervious to detection of somebody who is as sick and disturbed as he was," he said.
