Farmington (WJBK)-- A domestic disturbance sent the Oakland County SWAT team to a Farmington neighborhood. The call came in around 7:00 am Thursday. Police say it started with a fight between a man and woman inside a home on the 2100 block of Hawthorne.

Law enforcement officials were still on the scene as SKYFOX flew overhead around 11:00 am. Police say there was an indication that there were weapons inside the home, and that the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

It was a scary scene for neighbors, surprised to see such a heavy police presence in their usually quiet community, "There were men in army fatigues coming in, the helicopters were flying over," said Julie Kula who lives nearby. "I feel like that lady that you always see on TV [who says] 'we always watch it but it never happens to us' and wow here it is right in my backyard! It's scary," said Kula.

Officers secured the street, eventually removing the suspect from the house and taking the man into custody. It's still unclear whether any weapons were found. Farmington Police tell Fox 2 the investigation is ongoing.
