Puppy recovering after getting beat in Dallas

Posted: Updated:

Zuri had surgery Thursday afternoon to remove her left eye.

She was beaten with a stick over the weekend in Balch Springs.

Police are looking for three teenage suspects.

They don't have a good description but they hope someone comes forward with a tip.

Carol Nix said Zuri came to her front yard Sunday looking for water.

She followed the teens down the street and one of the boys turned and hit the dog in the face.

Rocky Ridge Refuge says Zuri is a terrier mix and only about 10-12 weeks old.

The Refuge has raised a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person who attacked Zuri.

Zuri will likely have a lot of people interested in adopting her.

The Refuge says the officer who responded to the 911 call has already said he wants to take Zuri home when she leaves the hospital in a couple of weeks.
