Dog saves baby from abusive babysitter

Posted: Updated:

A big lovable family dog may have saved a little boy from an abusive babysitter in South Carolina.

It started about a year ago after the babysitter had been working with the Jordan family for about five months, taking care of 7-month-old Finn.

The family noticed that their dog, a black lab mix, started acting aggressive whenever the babysitter came over. So, they hid a camera phone and recorded one babysitting session.

"It started with cussing, then you hear slap noises and his crying changes from a distress cry to a pain cry. And I just wanted to reach through the audio tape, go back in time and just grab him up," said Benjamin Jordan.

The Jordans turned the audio over to the police, who arrested the 21-year-old babysitter.

She confessed, and this week was sentenced to three years in prison.

She is also banned from working with children in the future.

The dog is now training to be a psychiatric service dog.
