A 14-year-old girl is safe after the car she was in was stolen.
Police said around 8 p.m. Sunday the girl's mother and father went inside a south Dallas gas station and left her sleeping in the backseat of their car.
While they were inside of the store, police said a man got in the car and drove off.
A security guard at the store helped the mother by calling police.
"She was panicked. She wasn't yelling or screaming. She was just panicked, upset that it happened," said Deputy Chief Gary Tittle.
Police found the girl and the car a few hours later. They said she was not hurt.
She was taken to the police station to be reunited with her family.
The suspect has not been caught.
