Wrecking ball removed because of Miley Cyrus parodies

Posted: Updated:

Grand Valley State University removed an on-campus sculpture after students re-enacted Miley Cyrus' video on it.

The college said it removed the swinging steel ball, similar to the one Cyrus rides in her latest video "Wrecking Ball," as a precaution.

Videos have surfaced of students riding back and forth on the ball in the nude.

The 42-inch steel ball was located in a sandbox outside the university's science building.

On Tuesday, roughly 50 students gathered where the structure should have been in hopes of getting it back.
