Firefighters rescue people trapped in high water

Firefighters rescued four people stuck in high water near Timberview High School in Arlington Friday morning.

Both incidents happened around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Webb Ferrell Road and Hanrahan Avenue, where the water was about 4 to 5 feet deep.

A mother and daughter in one car ended up being swept into a creek. They had to hold on to a tree for about 45 minutes until firefighters arrived.

Another mother and daughter pair climbed onto the roof of their car. They were rescued by firefighters using a ladder truck.

No one was hurt.

There were similar rescues Friday morning on Lawther Drive at Northwest Highway and Westmoreland Road at Fort Worth Avenue in Dallas.
