Guns found at 2 North Texas high schools

Posted: Updated:

Two separate gun incidents were reported at schools in Plano and Mesquite this week.

Mesquite school officials said a student took an unloaded gun and magazine to West Mesquite High School earlier this week.

Another student turned him in and he was removed from campus. He won't be back "for a while," official said.

In Plano, a student brought an airsoft pistol to Clark High School on Friday.

School officials said they noticed it in surveillance video and thought it was a real pistol. The school was locked down for about 15 minutes until police found the gun.

No details about how that student was disciplined were provided.
