Weather was favorable on Saturday for the InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival at Oak Point Park in Plano. But the main attraction was canceled for a second straight day because of strong winds. Despite the wind, the crowds stayed. Pilots inflated their balloons anyway, and the highlight of the night, the popular balloon glow, went off without a hitch. The day was expected to finish off with spectacular fireworks display.
There will be two more chances to see the balloons launch: Sunday morning at 7 a.m., and Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
Other action to keep visitors busy at the festival includes exhibits, concerts on the FOX 4 Entertainment Stage, plenty of food and a huge kid's zone. The 3rd annual Plano Balloon Festival Half Marathon, 5K and 1K Fun Run/Walk kicks off at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning rain or shine. A free ride in a hot air balloon is among the prices for participants.
The InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival wraps up at Oak Point Park in Plano Sunday, September 22nd at 7 p.m. the action is across from Collin County College. If you go, don't forget to check out the FOX 4 booth!
