Good Day Explores Vehicles That Aren't Meant For Teens

Posted: Updated:

It has to be one of the scariest moments of being a parent: getting behind the wheel with your teenager. Therefore, when they finally are ready to drive by themselves, you want them to be safe.

As a teen, you were probably mad at your parents when they didn't get you a brand new car on your sixteenth birthday. But the reality is that there are some cars that are not made for teens, and that's why you were stuck with the old Volvo.

One car that's not meant for tends is the Mercedes Benz E-350 Coupe. Until children have earned enough to buy this car, which is worth more than 52 thousand dollars, parents shouldn't let their kids take it for a spin. The leather seats are hand-fitted, and the wood paneling is hand-polished. Any spill could leave a lot of damage.

The BMW 528-I is another car that should stay out of the reach of teenagers. It's also expensive and most teens just are not responsible enough for this type of ride.

Next is the Tesla Model S. It might look pretty in the driveway, but the real danger in letting teens drive it is the sound, or lack of sound, to be more exact. Its powerful engine doesn't make. It's an electric vehicle, so its engine makes about as much noise as a microwave. People don't hear Teslas coming when they cross the street, and your kids might not be able to hit the brakes in time.

The Ford F-150 Raptor special edition is another vehicle parents should be wary of. The big problems with this truck are its size and the cost of gas. The truck only gets 11 miles-per-gallon, so teens will have a hard time paying to fill it up.

Next is the Chevy Camaro Z-L-1. It has a supercharged engine and a manual transmission that would be a challenge to most kids.

Next is the Lexus CT. It's perfect for bringing teens along, but not for letting them drive. The interior features are styled more for adults.

And finally, there is the 2014 Dodge Challenger RT Classic. It has a huge engine and a heavy foot and could cause issues for drivers on any road.
