Hokies in cram session for Yellow Jackets

AP Sports Writer

The last time Virginia Tech played Georgia Tech, the Hokies had all summer to get ready.

They met in last season's opener, and the Hokies won 20-17 in overtime in Blacksburg, Va.

This year, they have four days to get ready. They play Thursday night in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech (3-0, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) is difficult to prepare for defensively because its triple-option offense is explosive and unlike any the Hokies (3-10, 0-0) face at any other time.

The Yellow Jackets also have been pretty stingy on defense, They are allowing just 275 yards per game, 11th best in the country, while the Hokies have allowed 233 yards per game, fifth nationally.

Both sides played Saturday and say 1 of the keys this week is getting their bodies ready.
