Walmart 'Naughty' Kid Costume Offends Shoppers

Posted: Updated:

We're just a few weeks away from Halloween and costumes are now filling the aisles in stores everywhere. However, one custom is getting a lot of complaints online.

Consumerist posted a photo of a so-called "Naughty Leopard" for toddler sizes 3T-4T.

The "costume" was reportedly found in an unknown Walmart store by Consumerist viewer.

A check of the Internet finds that the name has now been changed to "Leopard Child Halloween Costume."

The "costume" is getting heat for several reasons. Some criticize the "naughty" label, saying that it could be interpreted the wrong way. Others say that it looks nothing like a leopard; in fact it appears to be a dress with ears and has lace and cabaret sparkles.

Walmart responded to KATU and a spokesman said, "It was never our intention to offend anyone and we apologize to any of our customers who may have been offended by the name of the costume."

Karen, Sheinelle and Qdeezy shared their thoughts about the controversy on Good Day today. Watch what they had to say.
