Reckless Driving Rampage Mirrors Video Game

Posted: Updated:

An auburn lacrosse player is accused of going on a reckless driving rampage... In an attempt to recreate the video game "Grand Theft Auto."

20-year-old Zachary Burgess is accused of stealing a truck from a Baton Rouge bar parking lot.

Investigators say he took off with a woman inside on Saturday night. She managed to jump out before burgess left the parking lot.

Police say he hit several cars and gates before stopping the totaled pickup truck about a mile from the bar.

Police say burgess told them he wanted to see what it was like to be in "grand theft auto" and hit several vehicles while driving fast.
