The mayors of Dallas and Fort Worth are making a friendly wager on Saturday's SMU-TCU football game using both cities' famous restaurants.
If SMU wins and TCU loses, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price will send Mexican food from Joe T. Garcia's to the Dallas City Council.
If TCU wins and SMU loses, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will send Pecan Lodge barbeque to the Fort Worth City Council.
This Saturday's Battle for the Iron Skillet is the 93 rd meeting all-time between the rival schools, who first played in 1915.
"It's always fun to add a little more to our old iron skillet rivalry, and Mike and I have no qualms about razzing each other over football," said Price in a statement.
Rawlings said SMU can pull the upset and win again in Fort Worth. SMU beat TCU 40-33 two years ago at TCU.
"TCU may be the favorites in the eyes of the oddsmakers, but our Mustangs are poised for victory," said Rawlings in a statement.
The game kicks-off at TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium at 11 a.m. and is nationally televised on FoxSports1.
