Family of man killed in Burleson wreck suing teen driver's family

Posted: Updated:

The family of a person killed by a teen suspected of drunk driving is suing the boy's parents and their company.

Youth pastor Brian Paul Jennings and three others were killed in a massive wreck near Burleson in June.

Investigators said Ethan Couch, 16, had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit when he caused the multi-car crash.

The relatives of Jennings said Couch's parents are negligent because the teen was driving drunk in a pickup owned by his parent's company.

The lawsuit states that by law the boy was required to have someone 21-years-old riding in the front passenger seat.

Couch is charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter.
