CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A South Side man who has what appears to be an AK-47 assault rifle tattooed on his forehead has been charged with shooting a teen and another man in the Uptown neighborhood last month.

Kelsky Patterson, 20, of the 4600 block of South Drexel Boulevard, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and discharge of a firearm for allegedly shooting the 14-year-old boy and 22-year-old man near the intersection of West Wilson Avenue and North Broadway on Aug. 31, police said.

The two were walking on Wilson near Broadway about 6:10 p.m. when another group approached and a fight broke out, police said. Patterson -- who was sitting on his bicycle on the southwest corner of the intersection -- then shot the man and boy, police said. The 14-year-old was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition while the man was treated and released from Weiss Memorial Hospital, police said.

Patterson, whose apparent assault rifle tattoo spans the gap between his eyebrows, is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
