Tarrant County reports first West Nile death of 2013

Tarrant County reported its first West Nile death in 2013 on Thursday.

The victim lived in south Fort Worth and was in his thirties. Health officials said he had underlying medical conditions.

The man was one of four previously reported West Nile cases in 2013.

Tarrant County reported its first human case of West Nile in 2012 on June 20 and had 280 total cases last year. Eleven people died from the virus in Tarrant County in 2012.
