Boy dies from injuries suffered in road-rage wreck

HOUSTON (AP) - A 2-year-old boy has died from injuries suffered when his car was struck by a Houston-area motorist who was attempting to force his wife off the road.

Harris County sheriff's officials say the couple had argued Sunday and were in separate vehicles in Baytown when the husband maneuvered his pickup truck to stop his wife's car.

The pickup swerved into oncoming traffic, striking head-on a car driven by Tania M. Vercher of Baytown. Vercher was killed and authorities said Tuesday that her son, Alejandro "AJ" Vercher, has died of his injuries. He had been in critical condition at a hospital following the collision.

Sheriff's officials say charges against the pickup driver are pending following the results of toxicology tests on his blood.
